Bob Williamson

Chairman/CEO

bob-headshot.jpgBob Williamson is a member of Horizon’s executive management team serving as Founder/Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since 1992. Bob has over 35 year’s entrepreneurial experience. He founded eight successful companies including publishing, manufacturing, distribution, video production, retail, show and convention production, and software development. Bob has invented many different products and published numerous books.

The food service industry was chosen as Horizon’s focus and, under his leadership, the Back Office Software System (BOSS) was initially developed for the K-12 market and was later developed for other vertical markets including the United States Department of Defense, Hospitals, Senior Living Communities, Higher Education, Corporate and Correctional Facilities. The system is currently installed in over 15,000 locations throughout the United States and abroad.

Bob’s wife, sons and their sons’ spouses joined Horizon in its earliest days and were instrumental in having helped to develop it into the excellent company that it is. Horizon Software International, LLC was founded upon solid business principles of Outstanding Customer Service, innovative and state-of-the-art technology, fair prices, and attracting, mentoring and retaining “best in class” professional employees. Bob takes pride in the fact that he is an openly-Christian business person who has founded the company upon Biblical principles and is personally involved, as is his family, in many charitable endeavors.

Since the time of company inception, Horizon has enjoyed tremendous growth and success. Horizon has grown from a small startup of four employees to a fast-paced, multi-faceted, profitable company of over 180 professionals. The company has no debt, experiences excellent growth, is profitable and, amazingly, has never sued or been sued by a customer. In 2006 Bob was named Business Person of the Year by the prestigious and nationally recognized Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and received their Pinnacle Award.

During his tenure as Founder/Chairman / Chief Executive Officer, Bob has recruited, mentored and managed many employees to create a core management team and infrastructure that can effectively execute plans and meet the strategic goals of the company. This principle has led Horizon to become a market leader in customer service and products in K-12, Higher Education, Healthcare, Corporate Dining and Military installations.

Bob has also been the leader of Horizon’s sales and marketing strategies—an area in which he excels. Under his direction and leadership, Horizon is continuing to excel and is poised for continued success in all food service technology markets.

 

GLENN DAVENPORT

President (2006-Present)

Davenport, a 33-year veteran of Morrison Management Specialists (a member of Compass Group), served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Morrison Management Specialists from 1994 – 2006 before joining Horizon. Acclaimed as one of the 50 Power Players in the restaurant industry by Nation's Restaurant News, Davenport's peers have also recognized his outstanding dedication through prestigious honors, most notably the 2000 Silver Plate Award for healthcare and the Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators 2000 Golden Chain Award. The recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University in 2006, Davenport is an unwavering champion of the food service industry and continuously gives back to the industry by serving on several Boards of Directors.

Glenn Davenport invested in and joined the company as President in 2006, following retirement from Morrison Management Specialists. Under his direction and leadership, Horizon is continuing to grow and excel, and is poised for escalated success in all food service technology markets. Serving on Horizon’s Board of Directors, he is responsible for managing overall operations for Horizon. This includes direct management of the Sales, Customer Service, Human Resources and Client Relations departments. Glenn works very closely with senior leadership of the company to ensure that operations in each area are efficient and effective.

 

MICHAEL WILLIAMSON

Executive VP/COO (2002-Present)

michael-headshot.jpgMichael Williamson has worked for Horizon in several areas, beginning when he was in high school as a part time employee until he graduated from college, when he then began serving in various positions including programming. Later he moved into management and has managed a variety of departments including Research & Development, Customer Service and Company Operations. He has worked in almost every area of Horizon. He is a gifted programmer and analyst and is considered to be a leading expert in many areas of technology. Michael is one of the owners of Horizon and serves on its Board of Directors.

As Chief Operating Officer, Michael is responsible for managing overall, day-to-day operations for Horizon. This includes direct management of the Research & Development, Administration and Finance departments. Michael works very closely with senior leadership of the company to ensure that operations in each area are efficient and effective. He assembled and directly managed teams in reorganization of the Customer Service and Research & Development departments. This process included analyzing areas that needed improvement, putting together a detailed plan to address each weakness and ensuring that specific goals were met. Both reorganizations were extremely effective in further developing the company’s infrastructure and strengthening the company’s core management team to effectively execute plans and exceed company goals with proper management and accountability.

His responsibilities also include managing Horizon’s budget, revenue and profitability targets. Michael works very closely with Horizon’s Chief Financial Officer on a daily basis to ensure that the company is achieving the required results. Michael spearheaded the highly-acclaimed Clients for Life program within Horizon and was instrumental in spearheading the company-wide implementation of NetSuite—an ERP system that completely automated all operational areas of Horizon under one unified and efficient system.

 

Jon Williamson

Executive VP of Sales (Global and Large Initiatives)

jon-headshot.jpgJon Williamson has also worked at Horizon since he was working part time as a high school student. Upon graduation from college with a marketing degree, Jon joined Horizon on a full time basis. Jon’s primary areas of expertise are sales and marketing, and he has concentrated on those areas since he joined the company; however, he has significant experience in training. He initially was responsible for installing, training and supporting school districts throughout the country. He has trained over 200 people on how Horizon’s products work including cashiers, managers, area supervisors and food service directors. He became the Director of Training for customers and Horizon employees and helped to define those departments.

After Jon had developed complete familiarity with Horizon products and training, he became a sales representative with a defined territory of some twenty states. As a sales representative, Jon personally led the sales team in total sales revenue, winning Sales Person of the Year every year that he served as a sales representative. He eventually became the Director of Sales, where he effectively recruited, trained and managed a sales team. Under his capable management, his department achieved record sales. Jon also had responsibilities associated with tradeshows, inside-sales personnel, lead generators and local and national user groups as ongoing responsibilities of his job.

Jon has been instrumental in assisting with the development of sales team marketing resources as well as directly assisting other team members to achieve their goals. He is an excellent mentor with a knack for training others. Currently, Jon serves as Executive Vice President of Sales—(Global and Large Initiatives)—whereby he focuses his efforts upon developing new business primarily in those areas. Jon also sits on the Board of Directors of Horizon and is one of the company’s owners.
