Horizon's Senior Management Team
An accomplished executive and industry veteran, Eckels brings a wealth of industry experience, new ideas, and operational expertise to Horizon. Before joining Horizon, Randy served as the Chief Operating Officer of Sting Communications. Sting Communications is a privately held, next generation broadband service provider serving the K-12, Healthcare, and Corporate markets. Randy was responsible for network engineering & operations, product/service development, customer service, government relations, and sales.
Prior to Sting Communications, Randy served as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for CBORD for two years, helping guide the integration and development of One CBORD and contributing to CBORD's strategic acquisition by Roper Industries. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at KnowledgePlanet, held numerous senior level positions at Sprint, and also Product Management, Sales & Marketing, and Engineering positions at GTE Corporation and AT&T.
Randy earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University, a Master of Business Administration from Lehigh University, and a Master of Science in Information Systems from Penn State University.
Amy develops and implements marketing and training strategies that align with overall company and sales goals. She is responsible for all operations of the Marketing department, including Creative Marketing, Product Management, RFP, CRM, and Tradeshow teams. She is also responsible for leading the Instructional Design team, tasked with the analysis and development of customer and employee training programs and supporting materials. Amy is a goal-oriented professional with over 15 years' leadership experience in the food service and software industries. Amy holds a School Nutrition Specialist credential, the highest credential in the School Nutrition profession. Previously, she has held management roles in customer service, product development, training, and project management.
Andrew is responsible for client satisfaction and retention, leading a team of Client Relations and Support Managers that serve to proactively support existing clients, ensuring customer expectations are met. The CRMs' responsibilities include primary points of contact for customers, User Group meetings, newsletters, client surveys, and serving as software consultants. He works closely with senior leadership to ensure that service and product programs meet the clients' business needs. He has over 15 years' experience in leadership and operations management in the food service and software industries.
Jason is responsible for overseeing all Finance and Purchasing operations of Horizon. He is a dedicated and innovative Finance Executive offering a distinguished career in building, strengthening, and leading corporate finance and accounting functions for worldwide business units of growing organizations. Before joining Horizon, Jason served as the International Controller for Radiant Systems Inc., a global provider of innovative technology to the hospitality and retail industries.
Michelle manages the Human Resources and Administrative teams, overseeing the development and implementation of key business strategies that actively drive talent management initiatives to create a high-performance culture. Her leadership portfolio includes responsibility for leadership development, performance management, employee learning & development, total rewards, coaching, employee relations, employment practices and legal compliance. Michelle serves as an internal consultant to the senior management team and partners with them on human capital issues that affect performance and business relationships. She works closely with leadership in developing strategies and initiatives that support the goals and values of the company as well as build individual and organizational capability.
Prior to joining Horizon, Michelle served as executive director of corporate human resources for Wolverton & Associates, an engineering consulting and services firm, and Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. where she oversaw the development and implementation of a wide-range of talent management and business planning efforts. Previously, she also served as senior vice president of human resources for Regions Financial Corporation with responsibilities at both the region and corporate level. Michelle earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from the University of Georgia. She is a certified Benchmarks 360 feedback facilitator, MBTI Certified Practitioner and holds professional designations to administer a variety of assessments and tools for management and leadership development, communication, facilitation and learning.
Robbie is responsible for managing operations of the Research & Development department, including direct management of the software development, quality assurance and documentation teams. He assists in making decisions about future software and hardware solutions, working with developers in designing applications for Horizon's future and with the entire staff in managing the software life cycle He is a goal-oriented professional dedicated to results, with extensive experience in all areas of the software development process. His knowledge and experience in K-12 food service technology is well complimented by his dedication and leadership ability.
Tina is responsible for managing and improving product offering and marketing strategies for MyPaymentsPlus, which result in increased revenue and sales. She assists districts with marketing the program successfully to yield maximum benefits for both the parents and districts. Proactively seeking district and end-user feedback to identify and resolve needs and issues, Tina acts internally as online prepayment representative to coordinate direction and effort relating to MyPaymentsPlus among marketing, sales, and research and development departments. She serves as a high-level point of contact for the districts for all issues relating to MyPaymentsPlus.
