The parents in our district are very happy with (MyPaymentsPlus) because they can see on the website what their student is eating and exactly how their money is being spent. They also feel more comfortable applying money on (MyPaymentsPlus) versus sending money with their student and taking the chance of it getting lost.
(MyPaymentsPlus) has increased our participation in the area of line speed. Student don't have to stand in line very long and that helps move them in and out quickly. It has dramatically decreased the work load on employees. They are no longer depending on rosters that they have to count manually. Parents are using the system more to add money their childs account so this increases participation because we hold limits to meal charges. My favorite feature on Meal Pay is the easy touch screens. Our elementary sites pull up a teacher seating chart. Easy meal sales and touch screen allows lines to flow smooth.
In Centerville we have a high percentage of parents using the (MyPaymentsPlus) system. They like the fact they can track their payments and can view their student's purchase history and check their balance. They comment on how easy the system is to navigate and they very much appreciate the convenience of depositing on line.
With the addition of (MyPaymentsPlus) to our Meal Program, we have parents not only using it to deposit funds and check account balances for meals, but also parents are tuned in to what their children are spending their meal money on. Parents love that they can see exactly what each child is purchasing and many feel they have some control over how their child spends meal money. Parents of our younger students love that they do not have to worry about checks or cash being lost in route to school."

Lynn Public Schools purchased Horizon’s software and equipment back in 2010. The District consists of 17 elementary schools and eight secondary schools that all needed a point of sale (POS) system. Our goal was to get all of our schools up and running within the same school year. The Horizon Support Staff, as well as the technician that came onsite to train staff and management, were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. With their support, we achieved our goal, and the lunch program has been improving ever since. That same support and knowledge has continued to this very day. We switched to OneSource from an archaic POS system three years ago and have never regretted it. The reporting is absolutely wonderful, it has so many filters so information comes out of the system exactly how we want to see it. It really helps us with decision-making on running our program and what is actually happening at the schools. The point-of-sale portion is very much appreciated by parents/guardians, as well as our department. Parents/guardians can also track their student’s lunch purchases and they like that. Reporting is excellent with this system and WE like that!

Horizon’s OneSource is as robust as it is reliable. We have looked at various other applications; however, none of them offered a complete solution. Horizon’s Technical Support has also been excellent and they listen to their customers.
Horizon is big enough to provide all that I need it to do and individual enough to allow me to only have what I need and want. The service and support team understand our concerns and problems and on those rare occasions when a problem is not solved quickly, I never feel panic or worry that it will not receive the attention that is needed.
Solana has been awesome. The best word I can use to describe it is ‘easy’. Easy in the sense that everything is at your fingertips; you don’t have to go between screens to do anything. Easy makes my life happy.
Our district switched to Horizon over ten years ago, and we have had ten clean state and federal audits—that’s a pretty big deal!
We recently added a Horizon Cold Food Vending Machine to our program at Gates Chili High School. It really became an instant hit with the students and staff alike. The machine helped students that did not have a lunch period get a lunch meal on the go whether they were Free, Reduced, or Paid full price. And the After-School Sports students loved having salads, sandwiches, fruits and milk as a power-up snack before their practice or game. As usual the training and project team from Horizon did an excellent job helping plan for the installation, then being on site for the installation and launch of the machine and being available after the roll-out if we had further questions or concerns. A very good experience overall and our district saw an increase in meal sales with the addition of this new machine. I would encourage other districts to investigate this option with Horizon Software.
MyPaymentsPlus is probably one of the best things we have ever done. My phone calls are down by more than half…parents can see what their children are eating, money is in the account quickly and the ease of use is great. I like that in one transaction, I can put money in both my girls’ accounts.
The products are very user friendly. With the aid of the Knowledge Base, I have been able to perform needed tasks with minimal calls for assistance. The Knowledge Base is also a wonderful tool to find out how to resolve issues that can be done at the site level. It is loaded with information to assist in training as well as TrainSmart. When I have called needing assistance, I have always received immediate attention. Everyone has been so friendly and reassuring when issues arise. Overall my experience in using all products and services has made the daily operation easier.

There is so much that I love about OneSource Business Analytics! First of all, it is very easy to use and provides us with valuable information about our program. It’s amazing how much time it saves me now that I no longer need to enter data from other reports into spreadsheets to see the whole picture. When I have issues with sites, the system makes it very easy to communicate with them and be transparent so everyone is looking at the same information. As an example, we had to let an employee go due to performance issues, and I was able to use OneSource Business Analytics to show the district Business Manager the vast improvement we saw in the site’s numbers after making that change.
We passed our 1st review with flying colors, and Solana was well received by the review team. They specifically said Solana reports were easy to read and understand. The review team was also impressed with the POS system and the speed and ease of use that it offered.
